What effects will Personalised Search have on SEO?
0 Comments | Posted by micrositez in SEO
Many companies, bloggers and twitter-folk have been predicting the end of SEO with the advent of Google’s personalised search. Granted, Google rankings will change slightly according to what the user has searched and clicked on before, but with Google’s personalised search being in effect for quite a while now, we believe that the core of SEO will not change.
That doesn’t mean…
…we believe that SEO companies should ignore personalised search – quite the opposite. At Micrositez we provide our clients with SEO services that are proven to work, and to do this we are always learning. Google’s Personalised Search is no different – we recognise that from a search engine optimisation (SEO) point of view, there will be things a professional SEO Company will need to adjust to, such as:
- Ranking placements can no longer be seen to be as ‘reliable’ as they were.
- As always, the importance of site design and content is vital – they will have a direct effect on your SERPs.
- Continuing to improve user experience is vital – the fact that a single visit will now put you at the top of Google gives even more incentive for a company to have an amazing site design and content.
Whilst it may not be the big change everyone was dreading, personalised search should not be ignored. The best SEO companies will adapt and continue the thrive, improving their SEO Packages all the time.

So, you’ve heard about the social media craze but you’re not quite sure what to make of it? Don’t worry, at Micrositez we know everything there is to know about Social Media and how to use it to its full advantage for your business.
Marketing your business
You’ve probably heard that social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn can be used as tools to promote your services and products online. Whilst that is definitely true, it’s also true that not every social media site is the ideal platform for marketing your particular business. How so?
Let’s say you supply a service or product to other businesses (business-to-business), a Facebook page is probably a waste of your time, but a LinkedIn profile is most definitely worth a shot – why? A LinkedIn profile will give you access to other business professionals who may be interested in your particular service or product – another possible social media site is YouTube, as videos on what services you offer, or what products you stock and how to use them would be a great advertising tool.
Twitter your way to success
How often do you get in touch with your customers? How often do you hear people speaking about your business in a negative way and instantly solve the problem before it escalates? If you answered ‘not very often’ then you’re amongst the majority. On Twitter, a micro-blogging site where you post status updates, you can do both of these easily and quickly – speaking directly with customers and potential customers, along with searching for any comments made about your company, enabling you to respond and solve and issues.
With large companies such as Coca-Cola changing their advertising and marketing strategy to focus on social media sites, the future of your business could depend on how well you use social media sites. If you’re not quite sure how to use social media sites to improve business, get in touch with a leading SEO company now.
Until next time,
